During the evaluation phases, you can trade freely during all news releases.
After you pass the evaluation and become a Qualified Analyst, you should be careful when trading during news releases.
On our Qualified Analyst Pro 8%/10% accounts, you are NOT permitted to execute any new trades or close existing trades on the targeted instruments (as listed in the table) within the window of 2 minutes before and 2 minutes after the release of the news announcements below.
On our Qualified Analyst Pro 6%, Qualified Analyst One, and Qualified Analyst Three accounts, this restriction applies to a window of 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after the news release.
To clarify, we define executing a trade as opening or closing a trade, either through a pending order (including a stop-loss or take-profit) or market execution. You are allowed to hold trades on the targeted instrument(s) that were opened before the restricted news event: more than 2 minutes before on the Alpha Pro 8%/10% plan, or more than 5 minutes before on the Alpha Pro 6%, One, and Alpha Three plans.
If your Stop Gain (an adjusted Stop Loss in profit territory) or Take Profit is triggered/filled during the restricted time window, it will be considered a violation. This will be classified as a Soft Breach, and any profits earned will not be eligible for a performance fee.
Any losses incurred during news trading are the trader's responsibility and will not be removed. (Please refer to the 'Important Trading Terms' article for information on potential slippage when trading under high-impact news conditions.)

You may refer to the following Economic Calendars for comprehensive insight into significant market-moving news events. Note that while one platform may designate an event as "Orange" (medium impact), another might classify it as "Red" (high impact). What ultimately matters to us is whether the news release is listed above and is considered high-impact by at least one of the calendar sources below:
Regarding speeches and conferences, traders should treat the no-trade window as covering their entire duration. For example, under the Alpha Pro 8%/10% plan, you should not trade starting 2 minutes before they begin, during the speech or conference itself, or for up to 2 minutes after they end.
Engaging in trades that contravene our standards for achieving unrealistic fills during high-impact news events may result in the invalidation of such trades. However, please note that this does not jeopardise the status of your account.
